Ivy Court is an NHS surgery providing essential healthcare to more than 14,500 patients. With the opening of its new state-of-the-art facility fast approaching, the Kent-based general practice required a new look website that would improve the digital experience for its patients.

After meeting with key figures at Ivy court to discuss our objectives, we understood the importance of creating a user-friendly and informative website that will reassure patients. With this in mind, we began by exploring various typefaces, colour schemes and layouts.

Meanwhile, we felt it was essential to populate the website with authentic photography instead of library ‘stock’ images. After surveying a group of local people, we understood that patients felt more reassured if they could see pictures of the facilities and the faces of their health workers. We soon arranged a photoshoot to capture staff headshots and general shots of the facilities.

After finalising our design choices, we saw a need for Ivy court to have the ability to speedily inform the public of any important announcements or urgent situations. Therefore we built an alert system on the website that can work in collaboration with their social media channels.

We regularly attend Ivy Court to train staff on how to update various aspects of the website.

The new website has increased efficiency for the administration team. As the website answers many questions, fewer people are making non-urgent calls. Ivy court surgery is now making the most of the online world to keep its patients well informed.
